Getrag Short Shift Arm
This is a short shifting arm for the Getrag 5 speeds. Shifting cables
are designed to work at a slight angle. This arm takes advantage of
that. It does not provide as short of throw as my Ultimate Shift kit which
includes a shorter shift/slave bracket to keep the shift cable
in line with the much shorter Ultimate shifting arm. For a reasonable price and ease of installation, this easy to
install Quick Shift arm will shorten your shifting throw a nice amount.
Throw reduction is about 22mm or about 7/8" depending on the height of the shift arm in your Fiero console.
Through the years GM used several different height shifter arms in the Fiero.
If you are interested in an even shorter shift, you may want to consider the Ultimate Shift kit.
This is an easy 10 minute to install accessory. All you have to do is
unbolt the top shift arm and install this shorter shift arm.

The Getrag 5 speeds were used in all V-6 Fieros with 5 speeds in 86-88.
If you are unsure if you have a Getrag look at the shifting cables on
the transmission. On the Getrag 5 speeds the shift cable is easy to see
as it is on top. The select cable is very hard to see. It is behind and
below the rear of the transmission. So if you can only see one cable it
is a Getrag. On all the rest of the transmissions used in the Fieros
have both the shift and select cable on top and close to each other and
are both easy to see.
